Updates from the 300

Be sure to go to a hand therapist vs. just "regular" PT.

Those little things are huge when there are issues, I totally get it!
My thoughts exactly!!!! hand therapists/OTs specialize in hands/elbows.

DMD123 DMD123 , glad to hear that your range of motion is relatively back to normal. I'm pro-therapy obviously, but definitely do what the doctor recommends and whatever is best for you. :) Keep up with the stretches!!!!!!!!

Do you mean this? lol

I really did like the Hikari products like Sinking Carnivore and Massivore but it would make the tank water stink. I also like the Northfin Carnivore but wanted to try something different. Im sure the fish will like it but really curious if it will leave a smell to the water and how the polys do with it. Been trying to get another growth spurt out of them but need that high quality protein pellet to make it happpen.
hey get well soon. In regard to pellets I had success getting little bichirs to eat Tetramin Jumbo sticks. You would need to break the sticks for it to sink. It does get messy but no foul odor like ***ivores and NLS crabby patty.

Update on the Tropical Carnivore pellets.

Was disappointed on the size of pellet. Much smaller than anticipated. With the pictures on another forum I really thought it would be a bit larger. I dont have any Hikari Sinking Carnivore on had to compare to at the moment but seems like the Tropical really is not much larger and its thinner. With all my polys being 14"+, this really is a hard food for them because it is small and thin.

So far not many polys have even seemed to eat it because the cichlids have gobbled it all up, lol. The acceptance factor seems pretty high so that is a plus.

Will likely just use it up and not buy it again but an option for those looking for a carnivore type, high protein pellet. It is cheaper than Hikari and probably a good choice for upper jaws who might not be large enough to take on a massivore pellet or smaller lower jaws in the insatiable growth phase.

I have also considered trying the Azoo Carnivorous Shrimp Pie....

Did u ever try the mega fish ?
No, I am looking for a smaller pellet. Basically the Mega fish, Northfin Carnivore, and Hikari Massivore are all about the same size. The cichlids get to them first and make a mess grinding pellets down. So the smaller sized pellet would be less mess in the end. The Northfin Jumbo 6mm is a good size and probably the NLS Thera A 6mm sinking would work well also. The 10mm stuff is more mess than its worth with the cichlid grind going on.

I'd go with Hikari Sinking Gold medium. It is much better on the 'finger smell aftermath' than NLS Thera A. I have the NLS 2mm & 6mm. My Gosh Man...!!! Need to wear hand protection.

I think its probably better that a pellet smell like the ingredients that are in them than not. Im All about the ingredients :)

Been awhile so a little written update.

The Trigger finger surgery went well and I am back at my daily routine with very little issue. Been back at it with the tank and water changes, cleaning and care of my little monsters.

Really have noticed a decrease in growth in the fish. I feed a small amount nightly of raw foods like tilapia, krill or shrimp and it is all gone by morning. The polys look good but not too thick or fat. They really do look healthy without that overly thick (fat) look.

When I try the powerfeed method of feeding there is always piles of food to clean up so Ive been sticking to this slow and steady feeding. So far so good but really discouraging to see all my polys at what I consider a standstill. My endli is the largest at 18"+ and most of the others in the 16" range but just growing soooooo slow now. Im trying to come up with ideas to get that growth rate back up, I guess I could go back to feeding them Massivore as the answer...

Anyway that it for now. Will try to update some pics soon.
