I recently switched my fish over to NLS.
If you compare what you are paying for the Hikari at your LFS, compared to ordering NLS, you will see the NLS will come out cheaper.
I was feeding Jumbo Carnisticks to the Oscar. 20 bucks for a 182gram bag. The NLS was 22 bucks for 350gram bottle. So that's nearly double the amount for 2 bucks more.
I was feeding 3mm sinking Hikari gold to the JDs. I was getting 100gram bags for 7 bucks. The NLS was 14 bucks but I got 250grams
And I also got flakes for all my dithers. I was feeding them Omega One, super color flakes. They cost 7 bucks for 28grams. I got 90 grams for 14 bucks.
So you can see the NLS works out to be cheaper for more food, that is better for them.
The JDs and dithers switched right over no fuss at all. Toni tho is a different story (my Oscar) she won't eat it yet, so I switched her back to the sticks till she is finished growing, I hate starving her to try and get her to eat the NLS while she is still a growing fish.
