Bottom feeders for 125 gallon!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Awesome! I think I’m going to try and track some down. 4-5 sounds like a good number, and I’ll check with my lfs about taking them back years down road when theyre massive. Just out of curiosity, could 5 of these guys take care of the bottom feeding in a 125 by themselves? Of course ill feed them their own mix, bit I just wasnt sure how good of scavengers they are. In addition, if they are the only bottom feeders I have, at what size would be too big to keep? 8”? Thanks!
I thought you did not want clowns lol. Anyways as long as you don't over feed a lot they should be fine. As far as what size to swap them for new ones it depends on the size of the tank if you get a taller tank compared to a wide or long tank you would need to get re-home them sooner.

In the wild, clown loaches are bottom feeding scavengers, but in an aquarium setting they can't just exist on the crumbs of others. The larger they grow, the more nutrients they will require just like any other fish.

Here it is! Finally arrived today. The seals on inside are perfect on the bottom, seem a tad withered on the side (maybe just dirty?), however the sealant between glass panes seems great. Id rather not scrape out sealant and attemp it myself as i feel like im inviting trouble. Plus, I saw the tank with all 125 gallons in it before purchase. Thoughts? An eel would be awesome. Could I really house one comfortably?

why not check out some of the pseudocanthicas plecos such as cactus plecos L-25 L24 or the spiny monster L-160 all are very cool plecos

Guys, I looked at the seal in better light and am very concerned. As you can see, the bottom sealant has bubbles under it and when I pushed on one, water came out. The side sealant is very weathered as you can see. Am I looking at a full reseal? I am screwed
