may i have some suggestions on what i should be keeping next? Im currently keeping a 13" gatf, 13" payara (armatus), 11" golden dorado (brasiliensis), and a 12" wolf fish (malabaricus) in a 350 gallon tank. I was thinking of getting an odoe pike but their short lifespan is kinda making me not want to get them + i read about their max size in captivity is only about 12". Any fish that will max around 24" is okay. Thanks!

You should be happy you have those 3 fish living together .. my pike and my army fought like crazy though not a good mix .. doesn't mean it won't work for someone else though

Right now I have fish together that people would tell you wouldn't work and maybe eventually it won't but you never know till you try ..maybe a tarpon might work with those guys you have.

They dont bother each other that much only a few chases here and there but not really that concerning. So far no one's getting injured yet so im not really bothered that much by the chasing.

I've never really had any fish injur each other really.. the fighting just kinda gets old after a while.. my BATF constantly bothers my goliath and the goliath almost never fights back. I feel bad for the fish most of the time..

Same thing happens to my goliath, he's always the one whose getting chased around kinda feel bad for him. But as long as he's not being stressed out that much and still eating i just let them be. I think thats normal in a community sometimes

Would worry about the dorado and/or the payara interaction with the odoe pike. Especially the odoe. By the time u grow the odoe out(usually come in smaller than the size of t-mates now) it’ll be small compared to the other bruisers. Odoes can get 14-16in in the right setting. Forget their lifespan.

Thought about some SD, barbs, or brycon to distract the other fish? Are u set on getting another sole fish?

Larger brycon can be an option.

The only fish you have that will remain comfortable in that tank is the wolf. If you want longevity, I'd say get a group of odoes when you don't have the others. As mentioned the dorado and payara are the two to worry about as far as aggression goes. You also have to worry about the wolf eating whatever you introduce if tnisnt big enough. Seems you got the main large fish desired in the hobby as far as characins go so you'd have to choose between dithers or other types of fish like catfish possibly.
