Didn't realised that spikey catfish will look good with bichirs. I have a small colony of spotted and striped raphaels that I'm meaning to dispose - may have to hold on to them now.

what do you do to keep them active? mine just hides on caves and ornaments.

The general rule with raps and urans is that the bigger they get, the less shy they become. If you wanna see em while growing them out, remove your caves and ornaments. Even with my big rap I rarely saw it in my old 120g. It’s now super prominent in the 300g cuz it’s a bare tank. Hope this helps

Just give it time. It's a bacterial bloom. Free floating BB will colonize all the surfaces of the tank and sump
