Anybody with breeding projects other than cichlids?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I want to breed bettas and bn plecos for a while, for the bettas I'm gonna start with an un-ID'd male I raised from a 'baby female' and a crowntail female, I'm gonna buy that female tomorrow, and I'll make sure she's ready to breed, I might get a divider while I'm out.

For the bn plecos I'm gonna start out with 2 pairs, one albino pair (already spawned once) and one brown pair, but I want to see if I can get a white seam, and more hopefully a super red. I really want those calicos!

I might also take a look at banjo catfish and anubias breeding/reproduction, I'm really intrigued.

Anubias plants?
Yeah, that one's not much for selling, It costs like $7 at my lfs for this tiny little plant, So I decided if I don't wanna pay for more, I should just make more, though if the whole process works, I might sell some.

Whoah that's a lot. Know what type it is?

I have some anubias nana petite, an awesome little thing. Paid about $4 for 7 plants15346779339251728144371.jpg

I asked the guy and he just said, "It's anubias". I might post a thread asking for a plant ID.

I also have anubias nana from petco in another tank, it was like $4-5 but since I don't have much money atm I still need those free plants

Make sure to tag me.

Thing is, nobody will pay a lot for anubias privately. And it takes FOREVER to grow, best just grow for yourself. Someone gave me lots of anubias since they couldn't get it sold

I'd be willing to pay a decent amount for a long healthy single strand of anubias nana, I love that plant but can't get mine to grow to the length I want. It's currently at about 8 inches long.
Also I was attempting to have my bronze cories breed and have the fry grow up with minimum intervention with me in the 55 with other fish. I was at the point where several eggs were hatching before getting eaten. If they hadn't all been wiped out I would have had many more at this phase :(.

8 inch anubias? Photos please :)

Most fish will eat fry if able to. Moss is good fry cover

I just went and looked and turns out I was wrong, it's only about 4 inches :D. Men tend to over estimate the size of things lol.
Yeah, I was starting to add moss for a higher rate of eggs making it to hatching when the cories got wiped out...

I have two separate koi and fancy goldfish spawns I’m raising right now. Not oddballs, but some of the deformed ones look really odd. Haha
My first batch didn’t turn out too good, but I have some nice looking fantails in my second batch. I’m still on the fence with the koi. Time will tell if any are worth keeping around.
