I’m trying to figure out how you are going to finish it ... are you going to fibreglass?

Absolutly Love it! Cant wait to see her up and running. Havent seen an all stainless tank since back in 06' range. Member here had one full of asian aros.

Dazza, is that a marine grade SS 316?

so it’s waterproof as is ? That’s amazing... I’ve never seen a raw steel tank before like that.
Stainless steel tanks are safe for fish, if that's your concern. The reason for such a scarcity of them is the material cost. They are welded together, which is also a longer, more elaborate, and hence more expensive procedure than welding ordinary steel. Any welded steel vessel holds water, until it rusts through, which won't happen with the SS of course.

There is a great Co in UK that makes and sells SS koi ponds with windows, just need to bolt together, silicone the seams and glue the rubber liner bottom to the SS window frames. http://www.atlanticagardens.com/instantpond

Dazza, have you looked at it? I am a bit surprised you haven't picked this one. I imagine a SS bottom can be bolted or welded to it, if need be.

Yes the tank is 316 stainless steel and is 6mm thick plate. I have seen those for sale that you attached but they have a few downsides. Theres alot of silicone seams to trust compared to welded joints and the glass is toughened glass which i dont have much confidence in and dont seem strong enough to withstand the corruscons or arapaima. The size tank shown is approx 2metres x 2metres? Not big enough and there limited on height (max 2 foot i think i remember) and if you brought enough lengths to extend to anything near same as what ive got the cost is huge. With mine theres no chance of leaks other than the acrylic to frame as there welded and we have tanks at workthat are half the thickness and have been leak free for 40years plus.
