The opportunity presented itself I had little time to act and I pulled the trigger. They will be here by the end of the week and I need to do some serious research in Basically no time I need help Has anyone else kept these? Can I out this in with my 1.5 EBJD?

I have kept nanoluteus, though a bit smaller than most, treating them like any of the genus Amatitlania. will do.
They are able to be kept in smaller aquariums than any other Central American, and thrive on any well made pellet that fits in their mouth.
I raised a group in a well planted 75 gallon.

I would not keep them with other more aggressive cichlids, but believe an EBJD may work being a on the mild side. If the nanos pair up, and spawn, the EBJD may be in danger.

I think that they would most likely be fine with an ebjd in a properly sized tank (75-90+ imo) since they are usually mellow, like duanes said. I have found they don't do well with any more boisterous cichlids, and get outcompeted due to their small size and good nature. They are otherwise not difficult to keep and breed, and are very nice little cichlids to own. good luck with them

If possible, I would not keep them with other cichlids. I have tried several times in the past, although not specifically with EBJDs, and have failed without exception.

Did you find that The Yellows were too Aggressive because of breeding or The tankmates bullied them? The reason why I'm asking is that As of this minute I have a pretty laid back tank and I feel like I could temporarily get away with it at least until I'm able to secure a species only aquarium for them. I guess I want someone to Co sign my nonsense so i could make this work lol

What else is in the tank beside the EBJD? What is the size (gallons ) of the tank?
Breeding will almost always bring out aggression in even the most peaceful of cichlids.

Just the EBJD 1.5 inches, A Pleco maybe 2 inches And a spotted raphael catfish maybe 2 inches in a 55 gallon

My nanos never got to the breeding stage before perishing. I found that they were easily out-competed for food and territories with other cichlids of similar size. Eventually, they would get stressed and waste away. I think they are neat little fish, and know plenty of folks who have kept them successfully, but always in a tank with no other cichlids.
