This is the puffer I'm planning to get except im not able to find any infoon them at all. The only thing I could find was a paper about their morphology. Any info regarding the salinity levels at the least would be great! Thank you!1368553

That's because its a brand new species.

I can make assumptions based on my experiences but im guessing really. Reading that paper its found off the coast. Which you'll have to research. I dont know if it would require cold water like an orange spot or warm like dogface. Your going to have to research where it lives. I assume salinity is 1.022 low end to reef 1.025.

It looks like a shell cracker type that requires snails etc.

I would setup a standard salt water with live rock if you're willing to take the risk.

I went through the paper and it has been compared to patoca. the info I got from the seller is that they are okay in brackish and dont need to go full marine But will tolerate. And definitely need snails! I dont know if the requirements would be the same as patoca too, i.e burying in the sand and stuff. I guess ill hvae to find out. Thank you!

If they're high end brackish I would convert to salt it would be much cheaper than high brackish water changes

Those are some sweet puffers!!!

I think theyre in brackish right now. So i increase the salinity slowly right ? Whats the max i should stick to ? Also, would you suggest a skimmer on the tank if its going to be only this fish in the tank ?

Haha thats why I want em so bad!! But i trying to find out info so i can judge weather to get them or not.

Sadly i dont have any info on these guys either... so if you decide to get them, then it would be great if you could share your experience with them on these forums for others to learn from :)

Yes. I have a chart ill look for and attach. It sounds like you could treat them like green spotted puffers. I'd say do 1.022 Which is just cheap instant ocean mix..

I have no idea what's their naturally salinity so I'm just guessing.

Most def skimmer with messy puffer(s). It would cut back on water changes. You will need ro or rodi water.
