You could probably get a western painted turtle if you can find any for sale online. You'd be really pressing it for space tho in a 100 after a few years tho. But they are very similar to the 2 species you already have. The ID is Chrysemys picta bellii.I have one red ear slider turtle and one yellow belly slider. They get one well and are around 4 inches in my 20 gallons. I am looking to upgrade to a 100 gallon, what other terrapins can I keep with them?
Yeah he'd atleast want to upgrade to a 300 wide tank. Or possibly build an indoor pond for them.None. The two you have will outgrow 100gallons.
Agreed. Best suited to ponds in my opinion.Yeah he'd atleast want to upgrade to a 300 wide tank. Or possibly build an indoor pond for them.
Yeah turtles dont care so much about depth as they do for width and length. Especially active breeds like the 2 he mentioned and the 1 I mentioned.Agreed. Best suited to po ds in my opinion.
Yes I agree. If space is limited op should look into small species like musks for example.Yeah turtles dont care so much about depth as they do for width and length. Especially active breeds like the 2 he mentioned and the 1 I mentioned.
Yeah musk turtles tend to stay really small compared to the other 3. They may not be as attractive as they other 3 but they are still adorable none the less.Yes I agree. If space is limited op should look into small species like musks for example.
Agreed. They all have their own charm. I just think the small 4 to 6 inch turtles are better suited to fish tanks than any of the sliders, maps or cooters are.Yeah musk turtles tend to stay really small compared to the other 3. Yeah many people don't know they can get quiet big in the end. I see wild painted turtles get to around 16 inches in length around here, granted that's a really old turtle, but they also have massive ponds to live in. Atleast with musk's they tend to stay around the size of your hand in most cases.Agreed. They all have their own charm.
