I think we're going to use roofing tacks with rubber grommets to secure the liner under the cap. The cap will be a sealed, pressure treated 2x6.

Nice pond!
What about overhead sump with something like a k1 section?
I was thinking of that, but there's only 2 feet of space all the way around. We also have to make it visually pleasing to my mother, who's neither thrilled or angry about this at the moment. ? She thinks we're a little crazy. Pretty sure she's just happy that it didn't end up in the garage. At least I can wrap a garbage pail in bamboo fencing or something to hide it. The husband is set on having a little boy peeing fountain in one corner. ??‍♀

Alright, damn that bucket filter back to Hades where it was born. Made a glorified internal filter out of a tote, 1.5 bags of lava rock, and 3 layers of filter floss. Running at 50% power, with 150 goldfish atm. It'll take some more tinkering, but there's a pretty massive amount of bio media in there. Adding probably 200-300 more goldfish tomorrow. I figure it'll take these catfish less than a week to make them disappear, so not worried about catching them later. The pump is rated 1000gph. Looking at uv filter fountains now to add more filtration.

More shots from today. Staining and sealing top boards too. Got a little cloudy in the water, so going to just let it ride and see how it tests in a day or two. Probably just the cycle figuring itself out.

Super jealous of this build!! Would love to have this one day. What's the final stocking plan?
The two catfish for right now. Rtc and a rtc/tsn. You'd be surprised how easily it came together. As long as you have space, it wasn't that expensive. We're into it for maybe $700? We built this for less than we spent on the 125gal.

What part of FL are you in? Does it get cold in the evenings? Do you think you will need a heater?
