Such as this...

Or even this type (I prefer)

Good results long term? I was thinking of this option down the line by adding custom cut wood shelf over the metal.

I would opt for something stronger, look into proper storage shelves or something made to hold heavy loads. I made my own shelf out of 1x4" pine and some repurposed wood from old shelving. Holds my 15 gallons without issue, lots of people have simple wooden shelves holding vast arrays of tanks

I don't, but a lot of people do. Those first ones would be too flimsy, but the second should be heaps strong enough. Maybe limit it to somewhere in the 700lb range per shelf, but it looks like you'd have a hard time practically putting that much on each shelf anyway.

I noticed that...didn't see anything on the specs showing depth between shelves (height).

What exactly do want to place on the storage shelf? I also agree with TwoHedWlf TwoHedWlf .

lol, okay but Im not posting pics!

I posted my garage set up here:

The Dewalt racks work but needed to be modified to hold 18" wide tanks. I think I explained most of it in the linked thread.

If I ever have a fish room, I thought about repurposing old pipe scaffolding. Could easily fit 2 breeders back to back and side to side and as strong as you want to make it depending on the shelving. I always see sections discarded on construction sites.

Sorry wrong link try this one, it has more pics and details:

I did do a bit more work so I best pop a couple pics up here:

I have my small tanks on one of these, I've installed it last summer and It have been holding well since. Although it probably can handle the weight of a tank of it's footprint, I recommend something with a little more heft. Mine seem like it may tip over if somebody tried pulling it hard enough, luckily that never happened to me (yet). They also seem a little bit wobbly, but they can support the weight for sure. The warehouse I got it from had crates of screws and metal marts on them. A few of our local shops have been using them for tanks also with no problems.

They are inexpensive for what they can do (if installed properly). But if you are willing to pay extra for the added peace of mind I'd say get the other stronger stuff.
