Plan on having a 70-120g tank, want a mid size(10-25cm) predatory fish, and recommendations?

I did some research myself and was very interested in the gulper catfish, hairy puffer, and red wolf fish. However, people seem to say all three are very inactive during the day or non-feeding times which is preventing me from making a purchase. I also did some research on the flowerhorn, but I'm not a huge fan of empty tanks with only water and a fish and I also feel like there is a lot of luck involved when it comes to picking a flowerhorn with good genes( big kok, good coloring, good lifespan/ health). Should I go for one of these 4 fish or are there any mid size predators out there that are also active in the tank?
Are you open to natives or just tropical fish only? Are you looking for a single wet pet predator or a group?
Redfin Pickerel would be cool in a 120
Same with yellow perch
My Warmouth is an awesome predator that has an Oscar like personality
For tropical a mid sized pike cichlid would
work
Most Amphilophus
Target puffers
hujeta gar

Not all predators have to be big. My old spike tail paradise fish(1.5”), would attack and try to eat guppies, and would stalk small shrimp before eating it. Had a big personality and would act like a lion, but small.
Fish that kinda sit there and wait for food can get old. Get a interactive fish, cichlids or bichirs could be the most fun, since you can possible keep them together.
