I have a 55g that I set up to house a Syn. Angelicus into which I introduced a few multies as dithers. I thought that the syn cat would eat the fry and keep the numbers down. Well, she is not doing her job and the numbers are increasing. Could I add a L. Malawi Dimidiochromis Compressiceps? My LFS has some that are 2-3in knowing that they can attain 12in and buffering my tank for L. T. is the upper end of the ph tollerance.

Thanks P phreeflow , DJRansome DJRansome and Milingu Milingu . So for options I have
Altolamprologus fasciatus, or leleupi or neolamprolongus. Any of you try Sumbu dwarf?
I saw some leleupi at one of the LFS this week.
Milingu Milingu , what fish is your avatar that’s beautiful?

The leleupi will kill the adults as well, by dragging them repeatedly out of the shells to get the fry.

I think I have heard that before. I used to be on shelldwellers.com but have cut back on my forum lurking. Tanganyikans seem to be that nitch fish group that most hobbyists never venture into so the LFS don’t carry.
For reference on how many multies I have:

Scored a Altolamprologus Compressiceps “Sumbu Dwarf” from a hobbyist up in Redmond. It’s tiny at just 1/2in so breeder basket condo for a while. I need to rehome a colony of multies so the Sumbu can establish in the 55g. That’s a 3/4in elbow.
