I got what I think is an extremely good shot of daisy that I submitted to this months potm. You’ll definitely recognize him along with other members lol. Don’t know why but daisy has been getting so much attention since I started the growout thread and I love it. It keeps me motivated to do my best. I really appreciate it all dude. I got some pics to post later today( maybe in a couple minutes after I eat) of daisy that I think are incredible shots given it’s taken with an iPhone 8 with my extremely shaky hands and somewhat smudged glass lol

Aw spot on its nice to hear someone so young so enthusiastic even after your few probs and verbal beatings on hear lol glad your still In the hobbie. When I worked in the hobbie it was so common to see people drop it because of bad choices/advice. It's nice to see someone soldier through keep at it man ?

Won’t lie, there were many times where I wanted to throw my phone at the wall and cry lol. The amount of times I’ve wanted to quite this hobby is too many to count but now that I have it all under control I’m loving it so much. So many beautiful fish and met so many incredible people along the way (both online and in person). I’m happy I never quite. And yea My time here has been an absolute roller coaster but I finally got past the big hills and steep drops and at the end of the day, it’s made me a lot happier.

I’m proud of him. He has come a long way from months ago when he bought peacock bass and oscars and put them in an uncycled tank and he was overwhelmed and wanted to quit and look at him now. Grooming a cool flowerhorn. Giving proper care and attention to fish husbandry. Good job! Rtc/tsn Rtc/tsn

Thank you. Really appreciate it

I wouldn’t put any snake oil in the water. Not stress coat not melafix and I wouldn’t even put any actual medication in there.

I might add a tablespoon of salt or two per 10 gallons and let it come out with the water changes but I probably wouldn’t do that unless I saw some cottony growth showup.

just do 2x as frequent of water change for acouple weeks while it’s an open wound. The rest of the long term healing process just go back to routine.
I think stress coat would be okay. It wouldn’t hurt anything.

What will
It help?

I dleted my post becuase it was essentially off topic at this point - what with you guys having moved on to measuring each other’s koks. Hahaha

But seriously. Stress coat- what will it help?

and Do you think that it might actually be problematic to add a bunch of aloe Vera gel to the tank that we are trying to keep clean? It will all get converted to nitrate by the system, which will make fora more favorable environment for fungus and bacteria…

and for the record. In the spirit of some of the conversation above regarding your progress as a fish keeper- I am not telling you you are wrong- I am simply challenging you to practice some critical thinking as to your approach - so that your decisions are as well informed as can be…

I’m not telling you what to decide

Typical males eh ?. Thank you for your input I try to avoid putting anything in my tank at all.

I've pretty much done what you have said I already water change daily, just increased the amount I'm taking out and dropped the temp from 82 to 79 to reduce chances of fungal infections and the like. I've got salt on standby if necessary but don't think it will be.
