Hi all,
I know this may have been asked a thousand times before but just wondering if white stringy poo is ALWAYS a sign of internal parasites. My male green terrors been excreting white stringy poo but he's active, no change in behaviour and my water parameters are always perfect.

TIA

post a pic. if its eating normally but still pooping white there is a good chance of it being parasites. and yes please up your water change schedule to 40-50% per week .
btw what tank size, gt size, tankmates,??

Tank is 6ft 180gallon. Tank mates are breeding pair of convicts, 1 salvini, 1 jack dempsey, 3 elec blue acaras, 1 female green terror. They're all around the 2.5-4 inches with the male gt being the biggest pushing close to 5. I used to do weekly 40-50% water changes but been reading how frequent water changes are unnecessary if your parameters are always on point. And yes, he is eating normally

Readings may be fine , but water changes replenishes ions and minerals in the water.
Rocksor Rocksor tlindsey tlindsey kno4te kno4te may help.

Sometimes can occur with certain foods. I’d check and make sure is it occasionally white stringy poop. White stringy poop mixed with colored poop is expected. If it’s persistent white poop then I’d try feeding some hex shield. Check ur ph and gh. Think gt’s need hard water if I remember right.

Just out of curiosity , is white poop mixed in with normal poop not a matter of concern?

Ammonia, Nitrite, can be 0ppm but less frequent wc's will result in higher Nitrate levels.
