The tank features heavy rock work and minimal wood as seen in many biotopes along the Pacific Slope. In many the substrate is completely covered with rocks and areas of purely sand are very rare to come by. Large river rocks are used and surrounded with medium size rocks. The gaps are then filled in with small pebbles. Finally, gravel is added to break up the sand substrate. Higher concentrations of rocks are used in close proximity to the larger boulders and become more scarce the further away you move. (The rock on top of the branchy ghostwood on the left will not stay, it is simply there to water log the driftwood)
Compared to other biotope tanks (like the Upper Bladen River, Belize) this tank has beauty in its more simple aesthetic.
Can you guess which species the aquarium will house?
The tank is 320G (1200L) and has the dimensions 72 x 36 x 28 inches.
