Mine are and will primarily be named after Fairy Tail and Code Geass characters. EG:

Juvia Lockser=yoyo loach.
Gray Fullbuster=pictus catfish.
Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, and Erza Scarlet=clown loaches.
Levy McGarden=weather loach. Will swap names with the yoyo loach and change this to Juvia Lockser if I end up having to move Gray into the 2nd 473 liter with the weather loaches and they take a liking to him:ROFL:
Lloyd Asplund=Burmese loach.
Acnologia=red tail shark.
Lelouch Lamperouge=rescue Siamese fighting fish. If I rescue apink females at any point, she will be named Euphemia li Britannia.
Suzaku Kururugi=featherfin catfish.

Some others are named differently. One of my black kuhli loaches is Les Stroud (aka Survivorman) because he survived a tank-crash 3 years ago that came about from the filter backing up and turning the tank into brown, murky NH3 stew while I was on vacation (impressive for any fish, but especially so for a sensitive kuhli loach) and is still with me today.
Unfortunately, though, I can't tell him apart from his schoolmates ?.

The fish in the 110 liter are also keeping the names the previous owner (Reddit user Froycat) gave them. Because I am too lazy to think up something better?

When the three old SDs arrived, one male had a gross case of popeye, with white cataract film over one eye. He became Jack (for one eye Jack), the other Jill (female) and the other male Not Jack. Later came Jethro and Jasper (males) and later Jesus, Jasmin and Juliana in corresponding genders. Nobody else has a name except for ‘Prochi’.

Good naming with the Jack/Jill pair. What does SD stand for?

And don't forget the PREGNANT ALL THE TIME GOSH GET OUT OF MY TANK, the Platy

I don't actually name my fish because...well...they're fish...

But I have a number of them who were christened by my wife, granddaughters, friends, etc. A few leap to mind:

Lumpy - an apurensis jelly cat named by my wife (short for Lump o' S**t)
Brainiac - a male balzanii eartheater
Tommy - a male Musk Turtle, a favourite of pretty much everyone in the family
The Three Amigos - a trio of Gara rufa doctorfish
Happy - a male Scarlet Endler with an apparently broken gonopodium; worst name ever
Snot - a leech that snuck into the basement pond on plants and grew to epic proportions
The Borg - a school of currently about 1000 Rosy Reds that breed like mice each summer in my outdoor pond

Others from days gone by include:

Clarence - because my granddaughter couldn't pronounce "Clarias"
Oscar - because...he was an oscar
Megawatt - an Electric Eel
Ohm - an Electric Catfish
Galactus - a 20-inch Ornate Bichir
Bagheera - a nasty male managuense
Tigger - a nasty buttikoferi
The Shadow - a Heteropneustes fossilis Asian stinging catfish...such a cool fish!
Ozzy - a volitans Lionfish
Measles - a Panther Grouper
The Ghost and The Darkness - a couple of weird green crabs we brought back from a Puerto Vallarta tidepool, who lived in a 200-gallon marine system for years and were actually seen very briefly for perhaps 4 or 5 times total
