29 gallon wet pet cichlid ideas

If you can find nanoluteus, a male would be nice with some small dithers like guppies. They stay a bit smaller than the other convict relatives. Female convicts are nice but you may find they are less outgoing than the males.
Pair of anomala would be very nice.

These are all great ideas. Those jewel cichlids look amazing as well as the crenicichla compressiceps. Are there any other smaller pike cichlid species that max out at 4-5 inches that also have nice color?
A single belly crawler pike would probably work too. They just scoot around, dont swim much.

So I’ve been doing some digging around and both the nannacara and nanolutea are not available anywhere. This could obviously change over the next month. I’ve found the amatitlania myrnae is which is available and a great looking fish. Some sources say that they max at 3-4 inches (similar to the nanolutea) Others say 4-5 inches Any thoughts?

North Jersey. I was referring to online dealers not having any of these fish available. Most LFS in my area only carry regular convicts.

I found nanolutea available on Wet Spots list a few moments ago,
All other Central American cichlids just get too large for such a tiny puddle, 29 gal tank.
Below is a shot of an A sajica I had.
It was about 8" long and 6" tall, it would have made a 29 gal look like a betta jar.
And A. cutteri hit at least that same size.
Even with the A myrnae I kept, I wouldn't go any smaller than a 75 gal

That was actually the first place I looked. Says they are out of stock right now. Guess I’m just going to have to hope they’re available soon.
