20's tang tank.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Congrats on the meeli fry!! Do they seem more comfortable on the substrate you have strewn rather than the bare bottom?

Should have done the water change before I took the video but oh well. Right after water change my water is always cloudy for the rest of the day. Something in the well water doesn't seem to effect the fish at all.

Long time no see huh.....lol.

Well you all know how it is real life gets in the way and things happen. I haven't updated any of my stuff in a while.

Still working on this tank...sss not all in the 125 yet. Still debating filtration, but! I'm closer!
The reason for the update is I have finally gotten cyprichromis fry!!!!! This is my first time with cyprichromis.
Yes I have no idea why this has been so hard. Most things I have read say incubation is about 3 weeks from the time you can tell the females are holding. Well not with mine it's around 8 weeks total. Maybe I'm just better at telling they are holding then most....(doubtful). So prior to this all fry have been lost to predation I'm sure. I've seen them holding at least 4 times now. This time I pulled the two females about 3 weeks after I noticed them holding, that was the first week of March. Well Wednesday they released the fry.

Good news we had 9 fry all together. 8 regular and one, wait for it.... ALBINO!!!

Bad news the albino has refused to eat. I got some live bbs from a lfs still nada. Today the day I was going to get a video the "mom's" killed two of their babies, and the albino is on the he way out unfortunately. Looks like they may have attacked a third who may or may not make it. The babies all ate (not albino) this morning along with the females all looked good (not albino). I went to 2nd job used to be 3rd but I quit original 2nd job (yeahhhhh!!!!)and when I got home I was going to feed them again and water change and take a video. I watched a female nail a baby 2 times before I got the net. I wasn't sure I even saw that right. That's when I noticed 2 dead babies. So anyway long story short there's a video below or above it here somewhere....
