Yeah I think keeping a more peaceful set up is long term more beneficial for your JD. If you want the salvini, you can always get another tank to keep it in as a wet pet.
See I wasn’t looking for more stock etc I don’t want dither fish I have a BA tetra in the grow out if my little JD catches it well it’s a goner but I was happy with Snookie and Tigger the clown loach and then I felt sorry for this little Salvini and I thought surely these 2 could live together I looked it up and yes they were compatible but unfortunately I didn’t know all this especially that adding 2 could be more problems that a 75 gallon is perfect for 1 JD I just see the baby JD I have and the 75 and I am like there’s so much room but what I did not think of is this fish is going to easily be 8” female my JD That tank is only big enough for my JD Snook!!I’ve kept salvini and they were extremely aggressive, personally I wouldn’t try this combination.
If you think the tank looks empty with just the JD then you could possibly try a school of large tetras or something similar to add a bit more action.
Yea I am returning the Salvini I have 4 tanks trying to shut down my 10 gallon but I need it for quarantineYeah I think keeping a more peaceful set up is long term more beneficial for your JD. If you want the salvini, you can always get another tank to keep it in as a wet pet.
Well I had 1 left so there’s that 1 BA tetra in the grow out Snookie the jd she has mapping (doesn’t show well on camera)a clown loach the 2 female EBA which they do well togetherMight be a male
At 3 inches a Jack shouldn’t be a danger to a BA tetra. It will grow with it and be unable to eat them.
I was hoping you would chime in btw I always love your opinion!!! And of course the BA tetra is the survivor from my tried to rescue for my first JD and it didn’t go well and I took him or her back and then got my 1st baby to raise so you know my whole situation LOL ? so thank you again!!Might be a male

Now I’m facing a problem where people are saying and my research is leading to my JD possibly having a blue gene and therefore could make it harder to gender I was sure the mapping was female but now this dispute has come up and her baby pictures match the images of a batch of fry that is common JD with EBJD I am worried that she/he won’t live as long as a common which is what I wanted from the get didn’t care about gender then again I am attached and I have had her since March at least I thought her…… yea so I’m all confusedWhen mine was younger it would always mess with the tetras. Lots of damaged lips from lip lock fights (I assume). Once he got some size he stopped bothering them.
Here’s a photo of what I say her it’s hard to see the mapping in photo even in person you need the right light and then the body is colorful then the fins always rounded idk ?When mine was younger it would always mess with the tetras.
