Absolute Giant

I went fishing for these guys in Colombia back in Feb and caught the biggest Temensis (in speckled phase) that I have seen; see below. Also caught some other nice ones of various species. The intermedia were few and far between. Some of the others people caught were really stunning; they only one I got was pretty plain.

I’ve seen plenty of bigger temensis too. I’ve even caught a few. I’ve never seen one bigger (in terms of length) that was in the speckled phase than the one in the first pic though. Most are in the “three bar” phase like the second one. If you have seen lots of bigger ones in the speckled phase, then you have seen something that I havent. I’m holding it forward, but not that far forward. It was incredibly long.

Holding them towards the camera is the best way to display the fish, which is what I want to showcase in the pic. Holding them close to your body puts more emphasis on the person, which for me is not the point of the pic. No one is logging in here to see pics of me.
