Hi everyone.

I was thinking for getting black diamond rays and housing them with an Mbu puffer.

I believe mbu puffer are less aggressive then the rest but is it possible to do so?

Tank is a 300g

TIA

I have never heard of those 2 species in the same aquarium together. Although you believe the Mbu are less aggressive it will be like playing Russian roulette. The puffer could damage the ray or the ray could tag the puffer. I personally wouldn't risk it.

Maybe some things are best left undone

I’ve seen it done a few times across different groups and forums, and like with all fish it depends on the individual fish, but on the whole it seems to work.

Gotcha. The problem is that when peeps try it and fail, they usually don’t post their negative experience for fear of the “told you so” mentality of many people using public forums. Given the cost of black diamond rays it would present too great of a gamble for me, but each to his own I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

I agree, they’re all expensive, and if it’s something you want, you’d really have to keep an eye on it.
I was told by so many people how I can’t keep Oscar’s with rays.
I’ve kept seven with my rays now almost two years and never a problem. To each their own..it’s really about what you’re comfortable with
