i have a question about stocking my cichlid tank, (121x51x66 cm) i have 2 1000 l/h filters and a uv steraliser. decently heavy planted (i decided to ask for help here since this forum seems like they have nice people, i understand i might have a weird stocking or have information wrong i have done research)
stocking list:
female polleni cichlid
2 male and 3 female geophagus red head
1 bloodparrot
male electric blue acara
1 pictus catfish and an L181 pleco
rotkeil cichlid and a female JD.
would a firemouth or female green terror or both fit in this tank? i am getting mixed responses so i went here (picture of tank below will get terracota flowerpots soon)IMG_9742 (1).jpg

Welcome to the forum!
This probably isn’t the answer you want to hear, but I wouldn’t add any more fish. Frankly, the tank is already quite overstocked as is. A lot of those fish are still juveniles, and you’ll find that as they grow they aren’t going to tolerate other cichlids in the tank. Many, like the polleni and severum, simply get too big to live in that tank long term.

thats okay! i just had to rehome my female eba since it was a bully to the male, so i naturally thought i could get a replacement for it

sorry, i did not mean thats okay that they will not tolerate any other cichlid my bad. i read and asked the shop keeper that the female polleni cichlid only gets around 20 cm, i did not know that the rotkeil severum would be that big, so what should i do?

If the responses you're getting is there are way to many fish then I would agree. I would keep the 5 pyrocephalus, re-home everything else, and call it stocked.
well the advice i got before, was that i could add my latest addition the JD and rotkeil, but now people are saying overstocked by alot, so yeah. but really? only the 5 geos?

Many of the cichlids you have already will reach over 25 cms as adults and you will be overstocked with them, as adults as is.
The above Paratilapia is only half grown, and might require a tank the size of yours all alone.,
The one below hit 30 cms, and ended uo in a 1100 liter pool.

And you might also consider that a number of them, come from opposte water parameter types, and may succomb to diseases when crowded.
What are your water parameters (pH, hardness, etc) just because they are cichlids doesn't mean they bbelong togther in the same tank, and water tppe.

hi, my natural tap water is 7.8 hardness and 7 PH
and i knew the males got so big, thats why i wanted a female one, i was assured that they get 20cm or around that and not the monster size the males get
thank you for your reply!
