Dimidiochromis Compressiceps sexing???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It looks like a dimi comp, but that will become more apparent as it matures. Oh and congrats, it's a boy! :WHOA:

A general rule in venting a small hole small hole oo = male, some species the vent hole is slightly triangulated like your comp. Small hole bigger hole oO = female with the vent being donut shaped which becomes more pronounced after the fish starts spawning

It’s looks to be in the aulonocara (peacock) family. Possible a juvenile male blue regal peacock
Funny story I wanna share. I have an mbuna tank consists of 12 Melanochromis auratus, with the alpha male, black body at 4.5 inches, 6-8 Kenyi 12 Demasoni, 6 Red Zebra and 6 Yellow lap. I'm surprised they're still all there. That male auratus definitely is my tank boss though. I had once put a larger jag and a larger dovii in there, and it wasn't scared of them at all, even fought back with an upper hand.

Auratus are hands down one of the meanest fish in the lake. They’re absolutely unfazed by larger fish when it comes to defending territory ☠️

They're one of the meanest, DEFINITELY. But what other African species would you put to be in the same level as them?
