Aren’t Fish Food Companies Required To Itemize Ingredients?

Yes, they all label the ingredients, but not the % composition. So it is pretty useless info.

This guy is doing grain free flakes but looks like he can't do the same with his gel mixes.

qldmick qldmick the price of the 400g of the Omni & veggie flakes convert to approx $35usd, and the carnivore to $55usd. Without all the garbage fillers though I’d reckon you could feed less due to the seemingly higher nutritional value per weight. I’m visiting my folks in Qld in March. I might have them order me some to bring back to the US to try 🤔

Yea, you’re right 🤙🏼

Grain free doesn’t equate to carb/starch free. All dry fish food requires binding agents, especially flake food. Sweet potato, cassava, and pumpkin might sound more sexy, but I doubt the fish notice the difference. I also typically never feed flake food, more economical to feed pellets. Less waste, less nutrient loss in the water. Looks like a decent product line though, just super expensive.

I figured I’d share Xtreme’s response after 3 emails. I did make a slightly snarky comment that animal protein products could mean anything from ground up kittens to krill but she took quite literally saying they would never use cats in their fish food, Lol.

Thanks for the contact Brian! We already have it in our file notes to make the first ingredient read Marine Protein Products OR Marine Animal Protein Products at our next bag order. Unfortunately we have to order them by the thousands for each size, so we will have to wait for the reprint of each size to get them updated. But, now that I think about it, I will email our Amazon seller to ask if the description verbiage can be changed to clarify the meat source.

Attached is a photo I just took of the Amazon listing pulled up on my computer to verify that we are talking about the same product. Rest assured that, as a lifelong cat lover, such a thing as having any part of one used in any of our products would never occur to, much less be allowed by, me.

Thanks again for the contact! I appreciate the attention you pay to our line and hope you'll keep watching out and letting us know where changes or corrections are needed! Keta

They have no intention to change the label with the exception of swapping Animal Protein Products to Marine Animal Protein Products.
