The Biggining...
I bought 2 albino longfin bristlenose plecos (ALBP) as inch long fry to put in my pond. They grew over the summer, and thankfully ended up being a pair. The temp. started to drop below 65 so i took the ALBP out of the pond and put them in the only tank I have and am allowed to keep, a 10 gallon. Filtration is a Penguin 125 Biowheel, some bushy floating plants, and the 1 inch deep gravel bed. Shelter included 2 flat rocks propped up on one side with a small plant pot to form a cave. i also found a baby goldfish born that year in the pond and put him in the tank too.
Over the next few months the plecos matured fully, male chose a cave, and the goldfish trippled in size and got it's colors. One day i noticed that the female ALBP looked very beat up and skinny, i had no idea what it was. A few days later at feeding time i saw that the baby goldfish was trying to swallow something. A closer looked revealed that he was swallowing a mass of orange eggs. i stuck my hand in and chased the fish around until he spat them out. they were all clear shells cracked in half with 6 remaining orange eggs. i put them in a cup, but they got fungus over night and i threw them out. the goldfish went back into the pond after 2 hours of floating in a bag and transfering some water. He is still alive months later, but idk if he will survive the winter.
So the first time my ALBP breed the eggs were eaten, a month or so later i noticed the female beat up, torn fins, and very skinny. when i looked in the cave i saw a few eggs. i was very excited
. no predators in the tank. the female began to pig out on the cucumber i gave her. the eggs were laid on Dec. , 2008 here is a pic.

A few days later Dec. 11, 2008 they hatch...Pics...

A couple days later their yolk sacs were gone and they ventured out into the their tiny 10 gallon world. it seemed like more and more were coming out, and soon i counted over 80 fish. a couple weeks later i gave 37 away to a friend who has a 55 raising tank ready with water from his 90g and lights on 24/7. im going to give him more in a few days. im also giving another friend some, he has a 10g to raise them in with water from his 55 and lights on 24/7. im going to keep around 20 of em and give the rest to my friends. if they breed again, the guy with the 55 raising tank could split his 90g, and the guy with the 10g could split his 55 to make room for more fry. ill continue to update u guys. here are more pics of them growing.

This 10g is only for the winter, in the summer they will breed in a 125g pond, which im going to add an outside filter from 2 plastic tubs adding another 25-50g. i only hope that the goldfish and koi 4-7in (13 of em) will not eat the fry.
