Does any one know how long clowns live? I have a customer who has had three of them for 26 years! She has others that are 20y, 18 y,...etc.,etc. Her big ones are about 12".

That's about the peak as far as I know. They get to about 12".

I have heard that CL can live up to 50 years, and get up to 14". But, haven't really heard of anyone who has actually had one this long, since tropical fish keeping wasn't as good 40+ years ago as it now.

I would love to see some pics of these guys, or if she doesn't have a camera she could just send me a couple of them. ;)

I have a 12" clown loach. I have no idea how old it is though. I purchased it at 10" size a few years ago. Hopefully it will still be around for years to come and I'll need to include it in my will.

I've seen some that were around 9"-10" and were about 8 years old. I would say size is not a deciding factor of age. I've already got a parrot(the bird not the fish) that some poor bastard is going to be stuck with when I die:D .

Don't contradict me! Let me live in my world of correctness! And I want to see the 26 year old loach too. I bet the average age of CL's at death is less than a year in the average aquarium.
