Back into the Hobby - New Tank

Got a new tank Friday night. Spent yesterday and this morning painting the back. Finally got the decor and water in it this afternoon. Of course then I found out the filter that came with it wasn't working; which is why the water is cloudy. Have two AC 70s coming tomorrow. It's a 46 bowfront I scored for $100. Figured this would be my toe in the water and I'd like to get a 125 later this year.

Once I measure my basement to ensure a six foot tank fits it'll likely be a cichlid growout tank. Definitely a convict and a fire mouth and some sort of bottom dweller.

Thanks! It has new gravel in it so it needs to settle and it won't have a filter until tomorrow.

Nice find. Bowfront tanks are very attractive, and your aquascape looks really good. You can find 4' and 5' tanks that are wider and have the same or greater volume if a 6' won't work.

Yeah my local Petsmart has the 5 foot 120 gallon in stock and I liked it but would love a 125.

Got my AC 70s installed and some rosy reds in it to cycle out (my son was not going to allow for a fishless cycle lol).
