very odd skull structure, it almost looks as if it would have a strong bite

Question: why is it called an African pike if it's from central America?

I know these as "Phago Pikes". I've kept this species a few years ago and while they were awesome animals, they were incredibly aggressive. Picture a Distochodus sp on crack...constantly nipping fins, scales, and eyes.
