Breeding so early will also slow down their growth rate, as it takes up energy that would otherwise produce growth.
Hey dude, fish still haven't spawned but are still holding down a spot always cleaning and keeping fish away. My question is should I keep some sort of light on for the fish so if they want to spawn at night they can do so or can I just turn the light back on in the morning and they can try during the day. This tank is in my bedroom so having the light on all night isn't the greatest deal haha. I have lights that I can customally adjust to whatever brightness though along with moonlight setting and allowing that. Just wondering what your thoughts are.

no, make sure you do your normal light cycle. Don't wanna screw with their routine, if they wanna spawn at night they don't need any light.
