CDM(Hella OG bichir keeper) grew his 27"-28" Congicus from like 7"-9" in a 180g(6x2x2), probably took him like 6-7 years. His other Congicus was 24" too.

J jaws7777 , I've gone through this thread multiple times already tonight, no doubt I'll be back a few more times when I feel the need to drool :)

There are some amazing congi with very vivid marks gs on this thread. Are these mainly wc specimens? I would likely end up with cb; do they tend to show less pattern / fade out as they grow?

O
I dont know O i never had a cb congi available to me.

Thanks Hao, sounds doable in a 180 then :).

I very much remember CDM from my early days on MFK, and your description is spot on. Crazy photography skills and awesome bichirs for sure!

What are your thoughts on cb congi markings? Do they tend to show less pattern / fade as they grow, or is it a case of individual genetics and conditions?

I'm glad you were around when he was around! I believe I shared his Congicus in this thread in the earlier pages.
As for CB congicus, I'm not too sure. Have not seen too many of them. Burbotman is the only guy I've seen with real CB Congicus. A lot of the ones in Asia from before were CongixEndli hybrids.

Congicus are the only poly i like even when the appear washed out. They get a yellow/grey type of look that i think is nice and kind of unique looking. Just me being a congi nut maybe

Both of his are soooo nice! I have the contact info for his cb congi source and will be in touch with them once my teugelsi and ornate settle in. Hoping to pick up a nice weeksii and congi from them at the same time. Big 3 upper jaws and a battleship of a congi should be a nice group :)

I just wanted to reshare CDM's old monster 27"-28" congicus (photos from 2011). This congicus is the very fish that got me into keeping congicus! This fish is a true beast! If you thought my old Godzilla(thicker than a soda can) was beast, this fish is even more of a beast. Look at it's size!

Surprised that palmas buettikoferi never became dinner. Not sure on how big it is, but definitely not a juvenile palmas buettikoferi.

FTS from CDM back in 2011. It's a 180g(6x2x2). Look how large that congicus is! Possibly one of the largest bichir I've seen in terms of girth. I believe that Red aro is 24", if anyone has kept aros before, you know how large a 24" Aro is...
