Oldest WC polys

Something mentioned by burbotman and hao got me thinking. We know burbotman has some polys older than some members but i was thinking is it a cb thing or can wc poly be as long lived in glass boxes.

Cant think of any other OG's that are active.

Jaws, I have the 16 year old Del but suspect it is CB
For WC I have my big weeksii and Nigerian lap that are 8 years old. They are my oldest WC

This is my goal. Size is great too but my main thing is longevity

I was never able to match Burbotman tenure in bichir keeping which is one of the reasons I have respect and high regard for his hobby.

It's something we should all hope to accomplish, to keep these ancient fish around more than a decade.

This time I hope to accomplish that goal of owning one more than 10 years.

The oldest CB bichir I've ever kept was 5 years. As for WC, possibly 3 years. I've only been keeping polys since 2009-2014 and 2016-now. Haven't been in the bichir game as long as most of the OGs Hopefully someday I could keep a bichir over 10 years.
Burbotman 's delhezi is just a few years younger than me.

Hopefully I can find out the effective lifespan of wc sens... I'm thinking that feeding small amounts would help improve their lifespan

15 years probably isn't unimaginable

This is an interesting idea, I know in a lot of animals "power-feeding" has been associated with a reduced lifespan and health issues- I can attest that at least in my larger poly tank I saw no deleterious consequences to feeding them 3-4 times a week instead of daily (with occasional unintentional longer fasts due to family and health issues). I haven't noticed increased aggression or anything, and it certainly helps keep tanks cleaner and more stable.
