I would like to hear the conditions people experienced with this fish maintain as the information via Google is inconsistent. Their need for driftwood or some form on naturally decaying organic mater for gut health was and interesting topic as well.

I know this is weeks old, but i have a gold nugget that I've had for nearlt 2.5 years with temp of 79F average. I do have large driftwood, but cant say if this helps.

I will say he and the blue phantom are quite tough little guys. I think they are growing slow since low on protein. But they seem very active and healthy.

Gold Nuggets are the only ones I've never been able to keep successfully - had 3 of them die on me :(

My HighFin White Spotted pleco is ~20" long now, and I have a couple of beautiful Green Phantoms, a Brislenose, and an Albino Bristlenose at the moment :)
