Hmm. Mine have spawned multiple times since they had this batch. They just let the bigger babies eat the hatchlings and eggs. I don't think they will eat the babies unless they are really inexperienced.
Hahah yeah if I ever have to head up that way I'll let you know on the way back but meh. I would post a thing for them on the marketplace, someone will take them I bet! Petco will take them with no credit and most lfs probably will too but for also no credit. Your lfs will be annoyed though, got rid of some adults and he was giving me the stink eye haha, they get overrun because people always have too many babies. I would try craigslist, you will have better luck getting money for grow outs there. You can also use any babies as feeder fish. Just feed them before they really get the dorsal spines in and you should be fine.
If I remember right I was reading a thing where some guy just blends them in a blender to make frozen fish food because they kept overpopulating! LMAO.
