Would the Platies present any issues? I currently have three, 1M 2F. If they aren't compatible I can move them over to the 12g.

I'm just not sure if the tank is planted densely enough for the shrimp to survive.

If the Platies have to go, I'm considering Celestial Pearl Danios. Is 12 a good number to start with?

Do CPDS. They are freakishly expensive here, cheap on one guys online shop @ $3 ea but he can't produce enough so we are stuck with $5 lfs fish. They are awesome but knock their temp down a little

Just got my CRS and Dream Blue Velvets; I bought 10 of each. The Dream Blues look stunning, and so do the CRS. The CRS were supposed to be S+, and most of them are, but I think I have a few higher grade shrimp too. These shrimp were a lot cheaper than most other places (by $10-25), and it was because of the size of the shrimp. These shrimp are all 1/4-1/2", which as far as I know isn't old enough to breed, but I don't mind growing them out because they costed less.

Fat Homer Fat Homer convict360 convict360 Hendre Hendre What are the best fish to keep with shrimp? I'm thinking Pygmy Cories and another species of small (half inch) schooling fish. Whatever my lfs has.

My glowlight tetras savaged shrimp so no go there. Cories are very safe, and small rasboras should be too

Like I said, I don't want anything above 0.5" for that reason. When I first put the blues in, the biggest Platy shredded one. He was in the back of the tank, and the way I found out he was eating them was because a head was floating around the tank. He only got one though, as I caught him early.
