Picked up 3 wild caught Rio tocantin kelberi from discus origins. They were shipped perfectly. A little thin when I got them. Have fattened them up a bit now. They are housed in a 40 gallon grow out with my discus. Hope they catch up to my Bahia is my goal. House them together love the dark green black and gold on these. Much different to my Bahia.

Nice pickups. How big did they arrive to you? Mine are eating cut fish and krill very well now. They are one of my favorite cichla easily.

Mine came in at about 2.5 inches skinny. The u were very skinny they have probably grew half am inch and doubled in weight. I have been power feeding with guppies to keep a constant food flow. I am buying the last 5 dollar bag of live for them tommoworow. Then it will be massivore training. I love the color. Although I heard the bloom late I love the different look they have. I see a lot of potential and enjoy growing them out from such a small size.

From what i have seen they start out a little more colorful than Bahia. They have definitely been easier to get off live. Best of luck with them. Keep us updated.

Wow do these grow fast. The u have doubled in size and are pushing 4.5 inches. The my have moved I to them ta k with my Bahia kelberi. Now time to pellet train. All Bahia eat shrimp pellets and tilapia so hopefully I won't have to starve them to much. Will update pics later today.

Wow. Big difference. Have you gotten them to eat pellets yet?

They hit pellets and tilapia yesterday in the morning and actually ate it. When I fed in the evening they were less inclined to eat it but spit it out. I will try again later today and also will snap some pics.

Caught them all colored up this morning. I lost the smaller of the 3. He stopped eating and eventually started swimming strangely . Not sure what exactly what happened. Went to get another tocantins this morning but just Bahia available. Did pick up some tocantins azul though. I'll do a thread on those
