I am interested in starting up a hermit crab set up and was wondering what I need to start it up and keep healthy crabs.It will be a "land crab" what I will need for its well being what I need in its tank etc,etc any help is appreciated.

Get a real sponge and put it in a dish for its water. They also like humidity. I kept mine in the living room,and they didn't move much,but once moved to the humid bathroom,they became more active. You can also supplement their diet of fishfood with vegetable scraps,I think it is gift free then, but you can't let them rot.
see Petco never said anything about humidity or a real sponge they sell animals they know nothing about.
I used to keep my hermits with a green tree frog,a house gecko, a green anole, and a toad,everybody got along fine.
Make sure u have empty shells they can switch into as they grow or theyll die
