AWW, those clown loaches are so cute. Damn, you got me wanting some now. Guess, I'm getting some now. Seriously, I love clown loaches too they are one of the best fish I've owned, it has been a while for me since I've had some.
That's the beauty of the aquarium hobby. You don't have to stick to a biotope you can add other fish from other areas and enjoy the tank.

That spot!! So cute! Nice find!

Will you be getting some sand for them to play in soon? Your old video had some pretty nice substrate and I know my loaches love love love to dig

Yep, the 2000L has plenty of sand (and more wood for cover too), I'm just keeping the 400L quarantine/grow-out simple for the time being as it's only temporary and I'll probably shut it down once I move them over. They've already put on a bit of size in the five weeks I've had them, plenty of food and 15% daily water changes seem to be working! Another month or so and I'll let them loose in the big tank.

Alex, I'd forgotten how much I liked keeping them too! I sold my last group to make way for a breeding pair of festae (which were super rare in NZ, that was the only time they've been imported AFAIK), six months later the male killed the female so in hindsight it wasn't a great move. Biotope tanks are great, but sometimes you've just gotta do what makes you happy!

Did the move today, they've grown well in the last two months but suddenly they don't seem so big when compared to my monster Lemon Tetras!! I'll try make a short video later, half the group have been out swimming around and the other half headed straight for the wood pile and haven't been seen since.IMG_20170818_141909.jpg IMG_20170818_141952.jpg IMG_20170818_151245.jpg

Two weeks in the big tank and they've already had a bit of a growth spurt.

Five months on and they're growing quite steadily. Think I need to spend a bit more time with them as they're quite skittish when I'm in the room. Oh what a shame! ;)

A tank this size is my next goal ;)
I love the variety in your tank, there's something different wherever you look!
