I have been a fish keeper for almost 7 years and in the last year founder my fish love. Polypterus, I have 5 species, 2 sengals, a delhazi, a tegulisi, a endlicari, and a retroponinnis. With a palmas and a polli to come soon, and maybe a polypterus bicher to. I have them in 2 30s and my 2 big guys in a 90 right now, but soon they will be moved into a 120 gallon, and the guys in the 30 Are just little guys right now. And are going in the 120 once they are big enough.

This is my ongoing thread about my journey keping these awesome fish.

Welcome!

You might want to learn the correct spellings on the species you're keeping. Here you go:

Senegal
Delhezi
Teugelsi
Endlicheri
Retropinnis

Also, be careful on size matching when combining upper and lower jaw species. An Endli or PBB (Poly. Bichir Bichir) might eat one of the smaller upper jaws that you're keeping or planning on keeping. I know your Endli is small now but it won't be for long. :)

Yea, i bought that edlicheri on accedent, he was being marketed as a delhezi and was $10, i thought it was a delhezi, so i got him, one of you guys pointed him out as an edlicheri. ill find a good home for him once he is large.

So update number 1. last night i bought a Poly. marketed as a Nigerian bicher, he is quite small, pics to come soon. but i put him in with the tequlisi and the endli, but i am worried he rill be eaten, so i will move him into a breeder box till i move fish around, i am setting up a 120 and polys will go in later this week. i am pretty sure he is a sengal, but he is darker and had a different pattern than i have ever seen on a sengal.

Magpie's right. Endli's grow extremely quickly and are notorious for being territorial / nipping the fins of other bichirs to establish dominance.
