If only you asked sooner... I left the molt in the tank to recycle the calcium and other minerals in it. The snails had it decomposed within a week.
I was just wondering if it was possible or if they'd go funky sitting in a jar on a shelf after a while.

I assume they molt more than once in their lifetime, it'd be cool to see a row of shells in order of first to last shed over their lifespan. :)

If I had a display of molts in my room I'm sure guests would have mixed opinions...

That's a neat idea though, I may try that.

I'm sure the ones with negative opinions could get over themselves ;)

If you do try it please post it once you get a few of them. :D

Gosh these guys are awesome! Can you keep the shells they've shed?

I swear the more I learn about freshwater inverts the more I want to pack up and leave this stupid island. Don't get me wrong, I love it in Tassie but damn the restrictions on freshwater inverts are really starting to annoy me...
I'msure you have your native inverts. Find them :)

Inverts open up a lot of doors, as angelphish has shown with types such as the aegla. Shrimp for me, are on a par with fish; I've got friends that solely keep shrimp, no fish whatsoever :)

We can get a bait license to collect native neocaradina in this country :)
That's cool. I don't know if there's anything like that here...
