Hi guys,
I’m right now looking for a 6x3x2 tank and when I find one, I plan to get a species of hoplias...
In the past I had a breeding pair of Malabaricus and right now I have a big fat red wolf.

I have been researching a bit and while an aimara would be sweet, I don’t think a big specimen would fit in a 6x3... could be wrong though.

So right now I’m leaning towards a black wolf
but since there are a number of species,
do you guys have any recommendations?

Curupira is a good option. Lacardae if available. If you tankmates then australis as they are the least aggressive, if available.

Solo wolf tank or will there be tankamtes?

Would do a curupira. It’ll me impressive esp if it gets bigger than 20inch plus.

Agree curu. That's the biggest species you can fit and probably most active. I'm not good with solo tanks. If I were you I'd try a comm of wolves with that foot print. Id get the Hoplias species first, then get gold wolves and ery species, Hoplias keep them in place and somehow manage to make them get alone from my experience and observation. But it seems only me and one other member tried it. You can get the curu to 20+" easily I think. After two-three years he should be at 15". Growth will be slow from here ime. Without power feeding.m
Wouldn't say lac cause what you get may very well not be one if you're in the US. And if the really do get 3' and are as active as DB's tank will be to small

Curu it is!
Here in japan we have a fairly good selection, but they also tend to be a bit on the expensive side.
A 20-25cm specimen is around 300-500us$...

Overall, it’s not a bad place to live, but certain things are crazy expensive!

Black wolf would do well in your tank. My fella is as active as they come. Eats pellets and anything else. Always moving and begging for food.
