Clown loaches have never been bred in captivity without the use of hormones in the water so no one really knows but your welcome to try, my best advice would be to recreate their natural habbitat as much and possible and also recreate the seasons and change up water flow, these are just guesses

There are a few but I don't think they had very good hatch rate. They are not easy to breed. Large tank, good current, and lots of vegetation will be helpful

I have heard that the loaches are bred in earthen dams in Asia, or in farms using hormones. They probably breed on strong seasonal impulses and with their slow growth rate, it could take them many years to reach a good breeding size.

I heard that they can't be breed because in captivity few reach full size but in the wild they get bigger... could that be a posibility ?

My females become gravid every year. The oldest are around 15 and they've been doing it for the past few years.

The person commenting lives in Indonesia, and worked within the industry buying and selling wild loaches from Kalimantan (Borneo) and Sumatra. It is his photos that I used for the sticky I have in this section.

Then you can all stop guessing .......
