That might be a idea. Never kept one of those. How big do they get? Heck I have never seen one to be honest

They can get 8" but rarely pass 6".
They used to be very common, tend to just see the electric blue version nowadays

are they easy to keep? Man if I could find one of those that might be my answer. I’ll have to read up on them as I know nothing about them.

I kept one for years when I was a temporary back when I didn't do water changes and the internet was for the rich lol.

Blue acara is a very good suggestion.
Also, I think for a female GT alone or with some tetras, your tank would not be so bad. If you buy one from petsmart/Petco, I'm sure your 65 gallon will be a better home than most get from those tanks.
