What vieja species can I keep in a 75 or 90 gallon
None in my opinion, they get too big.
I would not recommend any cichlids that grow much more than 6 or 7 inches.
Thorichthys, cryptoheros, some of the acara species. These are the type of fish i would be looking at.
Anything that gets to 12 + inches would be very limited as an adult.

It's not just the length of some of these species, but also the girth. Male vieja can get massive as they mature. If you are as new to this as you sound, you might want to start with fish, and a complete system, that are going to be easily managed, and more user friendly. Focus on some specific top 4-5 choices, then do some serious research. Right now it looks like you are all over the map, with no idea what you want to keep in this tank. Good luck.

Yeah they look hella cool and I will have an acara to have some action at the top, heard they are interactive, but bichirs are cool, just a large cichlid in a smaller tank may look depressing
