None of mine ever screamed. But I kept smaller birds. A bourke and parakeets. The only bird in the house now is my daughters baby lovebird. It’s pretty quiet most of the time.

Yeah, this bird is truly something else. I have a audio recording of him doing his very strange thing. I'll edit it and post a link so you guys can hear it. It's really funny.

I would love to have a duck or a chicken lol
So get some. I would go with 2 or three bantam hens, and get them as sexed chicks. They are easy to care for, quiet, cheap <$5 ea., unless they are some type of exotic, and don't need that much space, or to be kept indoors. If you get them as chicks, and give them treats and hold them, they'll love to cuddle, hand feed and be petted. Oh, they also lay eggs :) .

I live in an apartment with carpet floors, not sure how that would work out lol. Maybe when I get a house I'll consider it

My wife keeps mentioning that she wants to get chickens so we can get some eggs. But...if the only reason is for the eggs then they're a waste of money. Eggs are only $.25-.50 each, and they'll lay maybe 1 egg a day if you're lucky. They'd be way more than $.50 effort and food each per day.

Now, maybe a silkie or something exotic, they're cute.

You keep fish, and they won't come running when you call, snuggle, or lay eggs. They also cost more than eggs :)
The problem really is too many eggs. We get 7 eggs a day from our ducks, that's a lot of eating.
