I've had the ornate for about 7 years and the gt together with her about 3. I've noticed the ornate stalking the gt for about the last year. And once she had her head in her mouth. I'm sure more goes on when the lights are out. But the gt looks too thick to go down...

I would just seperate them but I don't have a free tank. And no one wants a free gt.

Ornates are always wanting to bite at something, but more inclined to grab the tail fin IME. Your GT got a lot of body mass for the ornate to hold on to. Therefore, believe it will be fine.

Sorry to hear that, its good you want them seperated, its sucks cause you had them for a long time, worst cause scenerio it that when the ornate trys to swallow the gt and the ornate endup dying cause the gt is big.

The ornate wont be able to eat the gt.

Ornates are 50/50 in terms of good behavior. Most polys and ornates included dont mess with non polys. Im guessing your is just being a bigger jerk than normal lol.

With the gts slow growth rates and the ornates size advantage im guessing the aggression wont stop anytime soon

I suspect the gt and ornate are close to maxed out. The ornate is around 22 and the gt is around 7 from nose to tail.
