I’m not very knowledgeable on Texas cichlids I know there’s lots of hybrids. I seen this one and had to have it. Is it a green Texas?

Although there probably are lots of hybrid and line bred Texans (red?), it seems the name Texas cichlid has erroneously become a catchall term for almost every cichlid in the Herichthys genus, because there are a number that look very similar.
Here is Herichthys carpintus "location chairel

Herichthys tamasopoensi

Herichthys minckleyi

Only cyanoguttatus is a Texas cichlid, non of the rest come from Texas.

I'd lean more towards carpintis or a mutt carpintis / cyano. Either way they're very cool fish to own =]
