Update on Texas cichlids

So I’ve come to the conclusion that my male Texas cichlid is infertile or he’s really,really dumb. He constantly tries to mate with my female but by the next day the eggs (which are infertile) are gone.
Anyway here’s some pics.
Male is 7.5-8 inches.
Female is 5 inches.

Very nice fish, my male was just as dumb,
had a couple of batches and one day decided the female would be a punching bag

Fish in first and last pic, looks like it might be a hybrid to me. If that is the infertile fish, that may explain it.
Very nice looking fish though.

Ease off the pellets for a bit, it sometimes messes with fertility, krill,earthworms,silversides and crickets all good before breeding
