Update on Texas cichlids

So I’ve come to the conclusion that my male Texas cichlid is infertile or he’s really,really dumb. He constantly tries to mate with my female but by the next day the eggs (which are infertile) are gone.
Anyway here’s some pics.
Male is 7.5-8 inches.
Female is 5 inches.

Very nice fish, my male was just as dumb,
had a couple of batches and one day decided the female would be a punching bag

Same here. Most are hybrids or caprintis (not that caprintis is bad). It’s just you don’t see people keeping them often.

Fish in first and last pic, looks like it might be a hybrid to me. If that is the infertile fish, that may explain it.

Nope that’s the female. The male is the larger one.

Ease off the pellets for a bit, it sometimes messes with fertility, krill,earthworms,silversides and crickets all good before breeding
