so I observed my PBB and Koliba, female and male respectively, displaying mating behaviour while feeding them today. Is this normal? Are offsprings even possible from this unlikely union?

Prior to WC today the koliba was still trying to get the female chad PBB to mate. Persistent bugger. Should I separate the pair and see what comes of it?

If there is physical harm being done or you don't want them to spawn then seperate.

I would try anything possible to get them to mate. The mix could be worth the trouble. Tlindsey is the mating guru.

With other fishes sometimes a big water change with cooler than normal water can cause a spawn reaction. Not sure if this would trigger it for your female... sounds like the male is ready to go, lol
